SEPAC is excited to announce that this fall’s educational program will have a central theme centered around the “Next Generation of Supply Chain Professionals”.  The 3-part series will focus on the following topics:

  • Supply Chain Students and Curriculum
  • Supply Chain Expectations of New Professionals
  • Multi-Generational Perspectives

Joining us for the September program is Misty Blessley, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management (MSCM) at Fox School of Business (FSB), Temple University. Misty will provide our audience with a greater understanding on what is being taught to Supply Chain students.  Takeaways for this program include:

  • Gain an understanding of today’s Supply Chain Curriculum and new learning strategies and student expectations
  • Learn what skills new grads are bringing to the market upon graduation
  • Gain insight into what new graduates are looking for in their first employer
Misty Blessley, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management (MSCM) at Fox School of Business (FSB), Temple University. Prior to academia she worked for 12 years in the industrial controls and fiber optics industries. She received her Ph.D. in Supply Chain (Temple University), MBA in Finance (St Joseph’s University) and B.S. in Business Logistics (Penn State University). Her Ph.D. dissertation won the 2013 Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Dissertation Research Fellowship and 2nd prize in the 2013 Association for Operations Management (APICS) George and Marion Plossl Research Fellowship. Her research interests are in the areas of behavioral operations and humanitarian supply chain management. She teaches at the undergraduate and graduate level, in addition to mentoring DBA students. She received the 2017 FSB Dean’s Teaching Award for her excellence in teaching and the 2017 Best Storyteller FOX Online Teaching and Technology Award for her innovative approach to reaching her students. At Temple she founded and oversees Temple University Supply Chain Association (TU-SCA). TU-SCA is a student professional organization committed to bringing professional development opportunities to tomorrow’s rising supply chain professionals. Blessley also holds a Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), which she has maintained for 20 years.
