To state the obvious, COVID-19 has had an impact on communities across the globe. Public health initiatives and now vaccines have been put into place to combat the virus. Unique challenges present themselves in different communities, not all programs or vaccine roll-outs are the same. In this presentation, Suzanne Smith, a Senior Solution Advisor at Lumere with 32 years’ experience as an RN, will present her experiences with vaccine rollout in the North Slope of Alaska. Unique challenges specific to Alaska will be discussed.

Suzanne Smith, BSN, RN

Solution Advisor, Value Analysis

Building on 14 years as a Value Analysis Professional, Suzanne currently serves as a Senior Solution Advisor at Lumere. In her role, she provides support to clients in many facets, including assisting clients with redesigning value analysis programs and improving physician engagement.

With 32 years of experience as a registered nurse, she has held both clinical and business roles. Most recently, Suzanne was the Director of Value Analysis at MaineHealth, the largest healthcare organization in Maine. There she built a clinically focused value analysis program and served as a regional resource to her peers. MaineHealth received supplier and GPO awards for program excellence under Suzanne’s leadership. After leaving MaineHealth, she spent a year on the North Slope of Alaska as a public health nurse. She is an active member of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP).

In her free time Suzanne is either cooking, hiking, or laughing with family and friends.
