Thank a Supply Chain Professional - Supply Chain Week 23 - October 1-7

Join us for a conversation with Cohealo on the topic of capital equipment sharing and the development of the Dynamic Ventilator Reserve (DVR), a COVID19 rapid response effort to share ventilators between differently affected regions of the United States. An initiative of the White House, American Hospital Association, and Cohealo, the program enabled health systems experiencing critical shortages to access shared resources during a time when the cost to purchase ventilators had risen by more than 100%. Using the case study of the DVR, this session will discuss the fundamentals of exchanging assets between facilities, quantifying the savings from sharing, and how to select equipment types such as lasers, navigation systems, and beds to start your program.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the essential components of an equipment sharing program
  • Learn how to share capital equipment safely and efficiently
  • Discuss the financial opportunity of sharing capital equipment
  • Summarize the lessons learned from other health systems sharing equipment and the Dynamic Ventilator Reserve
