SEPAC is excited to announce that this fall’s educational program will have a central theme centered around the “Next Generation of Supply Chain Professionals”.  The 3-part series will focus on the following topics:

  • Supply Chain Students and Curriculum
  • Supply Chain Expectations of New Professionals
  • Multi-Generational Perspectives

Joining us for the October meeting will be Brian Rounsavill, Senior Director of Contracting and Procurement for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Bob Burkholder, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management for Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health.

Brian Rounsavill, MBA, CPSM, C.P.M, A.P.P. 

With over 30 years of experience in Supply Chain, Brian joined Supply Chain in March 2014 as the Senior Director of Contracting & Procurement, where he leads the Procurement Center of Excellence comprised of twenty-one strategic sourcing and category management professionals. Generated savings of $25.8 million in FY16; $11.9 million in FY17; $17.9 million in FY18 and $18.3 million in FY19. Manages approximately $680 million of operating and capital spend.

Previously, he spent over twelve years at Princeton University, where he was Director of Purchasing and lead University-wide spend management and strategic sourcing initiatives focused on procurement improvements, cost savings and developing commodity-based sourcing strategies.  He helped transform the purchasing function from a transactional operation to a strategic campus partner through an integration of best-in-class business processes, staff skillset enhancements and P2P systems improvements. Prior to Princeton, he spent over 12 years in an international scientific and research association, where he worked in supply chain with faculty and researchers in both the electrochemical and solid state science fields.  

He received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Lehigh University and his undergraduate degree in Business Management from Moravian College. He is a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP). In addition, he has been recognized by the National Purchasing Institute for nine consecutive years with their Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award, served two terms as President of the New Jersey Higher Education Purchasing Association, was elected Chair of the National Association of Educational Procurement’s Ad Hoc Committee on Defining & Calculating Cost Savings, and is the author of several industry articles on cost savings and sourcing strategies.

Robert Burkholder

Bob is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He has over 37 years of experience in healthcare supply chain management, overseeing such areas as strategic sourcing, purchasing, receiving, transportation, inventory management, distribution, print/mail and supply chain systems. Over the past 5 years, as a result of mergers and acquisitions, Bob has led the integration of 6 previously independent supply chain management departments, developing one organization structure, creating new centralized and regional roles for all supply chain staff , while also implementing common systems, processes and practices across the enterprise. As a result of this integration, Bob and his team currently have responsibility for over $1 billion in non-labor expense management, and during this time, his team has driven over $80 million in annualized savings to the Jefferson enterprise.
