We are closing out the “Next Generation of Supply Chain Professionals” series with a round-table discussion on the Multi-Generational Perspectives. 

Returning for the November meeting will be Senior Vice President for RWJ Barnabas and AHRMM Chair, Bob Taylor, joined by Jennifer Garvin, Vice President of Supply Chain for Christiana Care, and Alison Kline, an MBA Student at Temple Fox Scool of Business.

Bob Taylor

Bob Taylor has over 30 years of experience in the Health Care Supply Chain.  Currently Bob is the SVP of Supply Chain for RWJBarnabas Health.  For 18 months prior Bob was the VP of Managed Services with HealthTrust, leading the company’s outsourced Supply Chain Leadership Staffing business and also the interim SVP of Supply Chain for RWJBarnabas Health.  Prior to this Bob was the AVP for Supply Chain at UAB Health System in Birmingham Alabama for 9 years including the 1,250 bed flagship UAB University Hospital, The Health Services Foundation with over 1,000 physicians, three affiliate hospitals, and two additional associate hospitals all located within the state of Alabama.  Prior to UAB Health System Bob worked with HCA for fifteen years, the last seven as a regional Supply Chain Officer with responsibility for Supply Chain Services for 22 hospitals in three states.  Bob has also worked community and faith based facilities throughout his career.

Bob received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Pennsylvania State University and his Master’s Degree from Kennesaw State University, has a Graduate Certificate from UAB in Healthcare Quality and Safety, and is a Certified Materials Resource Professional and is the Chair of AHRMM.

Jennifer Garvin

Jennifer Garvin is currently Vice President of Supply Chain for Christiana Care Health Services.  Jennifer joined Christiana in November of 2018 to lead an operational transformation of the Supply Chain and initiate an aggressive expense savings project through innovative, clinician led contracting strategies.

Prior to Christiana Care, Jennifer was VP of Supply Chain Operations for Allegheny Health Network, a part of Highmark Health which is a newly formed Integrated Delivery Network.  While at AHN, Jennifer led the Supply Chain integration standardization of a 7 hospital system, along with consolidating four ERP systems to one.

Jennifer started her Supply Chain career at UPMC Health System where she acquired skills through all aspects of the Health Care Supply Chain.  She was also part of a software implementation and part of the strategic partnership implementations of newly acquired hospitals.

Between working at health networks, Jennifer worked at Phillips Respironics and Starkist.  The diversity of industries has allowed Jennifer to apply innovation to the health care space. 

Jennifer is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Saint Francis University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Duquesne University.

Jennifer, her husband, Bob and their two daughters live in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
